DHL WP Emerging Squad hard at work

botha-smid_under-21638WPclubrugby  reported that The 2015 DHL WP Emerging preliminary Squad has been chosen after the coaching staff was recently announced.

Lionel Langenhoven will once again take charge of the Emerging team. The ex-Kuilsriver Coach has made waves with his work with the side last year as they were crowned winners of the Southern Amateur Provincial Competition in Saldanha last year.

Union-Milnerton Head Coach Ishma-eel Dollie and Belhar’s Norman Jordaan have been named as his assistants after earning rave reviews for their work at club level.

Dollie in particular has done great work not only at club level with Uni-Mil, but also with the 2014 WP Disa Team who won their tournament and caught the eye in the process.

Both he and Jordaan boast a wealth of rugby knowledge and a strong pedigree in terms of player development. Their addition to the coaching staff is a major boost for the DHL WP Emerging squad.

Jordaan has recently done great work with the Under-16 Grant Khomo side and is the Backline Coach at Belhar.

The preliminary squad has already been chosen. 45 players under the age of 25 from SLA, SLB, and SLC have been named and are already hard at work at the HPC, training every Monday and Wednesday.

The squad will be trimmed down to 25 players for the Interprovincial tournament which takes place on the 24th of August in Citrusdal
