Dangermen of the World Cup: George North
Dangermen of the World Cup: George North: Still only twenty-three years of age, Welshman George North has made a big impression on the world stage in a short space of time. Capable of operating on either wing, North has the necessary speed and guile for the position, but its his considerable strength that marks him out as a star in the game.
Standing 1.94 metres tall and weighing over 100 kilograms, North is built for the game of rugby. His blistering turn of pace combined with his powerful build make him a nightmare to bring down.
Having made his debut for Wales in 2010, North has amassed 49 caps and scored 110 points for the northern hemisphere giants to date. Still such a young man, we think he’ll be a potent force at 2015’s rugby showpiece where, with the eyes of the world watching, North can cement his place alongside the legendary wingers of the game.
But as a committed team player, North is more likely to be concerned about helping Wales through to the final rather than worrying about his own personal achievements.
Come game time however, he’ll have the opportunity to further his own name and help a spirited Welsh side make inroads into the competition. At his best, there are few players more dangerous than George North.
