WP Club Rugby News Update
(WP Club Rugby.co.za) – The club rugby season continues to gain pace as we are fast approaching the business end of the season. Now more than ever, results have added consequences as clubs are running out of games to fulfill their season’s ambitions.
Off the field, it has been a busy time for the WPRFU. The Women’s Rugby department is hard at work in preparation for the Women’s Day Festival which will take place on the 10th of August. The full day event will take place at Florida Park and will feature games for girls Under-16 and Under-18 teams as well as senior ladies teams.
The Under-16 and Under-18 Western Province Women’s sides are currently in Pretoria in preparation for their weekends’ inter provincial games.
In HUBS development news, the new intern staff has acclimatized well to the organizational and structural requirements of the program and have made great strides in ensuring the program remains on track. They received requests from schools in the Helderberg and Stellenbosch areas for the HUBS program to be introduced so look out for big developments happening in those areas.
There is a 7’s Coaching Course for all HUBS coaches taking place on Friday. Contact Geoff Crowster for more information.
The “Get into Rugby” program launched in Grassy Park this year continues with its rollout. All games in the program will be played at Fairmount High School.
On Friday the Schools U18 International Series will continue at City Park with the SA Schools U18A vs Italy U18 at 12h00, England U18 vs France U18 at 14h00 and SA Schools U18 vs Wales U18 at 16h00.
