March Fitness Events
March Fitness Events: March features a range of awesome events to keep you fit and healthy! The weather is perfect and spirits are high as people become more settled into the new year. It’s also a great opportunity to achieve some of the fitness goals you’ve set for the year! We’ve listed below some events we think you should check out.
Cape Town
Over Easter weekend, the Two Oceans Marathon takes place, featuring various races. Good Friday’s race is the Trail Run, 22km and 12km in distance. On Easter Saturday, 26 March, the Ultra Marathon of 56km is on, as well as the Half Marathon of 21km.

The Absa Cape Epic is taking place from March 13 – 20 and kicks off from UCT. This eight day mountain biking adventure will take you on the adventure of a lifetime. But, it’s not for the faint-hearted, with the track covering 647km of gruelling challenges!

For something a bit more fun, the World Naked Bike Ride is on March 5. Riders will meet at the Sea Point library at around 10am. The event aims to raise awareness around environmental issues including oil dependency and harmful carbon emissions! You can take part with any human-powered transportation, be it skates, cycles, prams, wheelchairs, rollerblades – anything!
Johannesburg
The Jump City Challenge is from 5 – 6 March. This event is loads of fun, set up as an obstacle course around town over 10km, it works out all your muscles and you can do it with your friends to keep one another motivated!
