Tips on training fast but effectively
John Lennon said life is what happens to you while you are busy making other plans; this truism is especially valid in the world of fitness. Fast-paced office jobs, hectic studies, the demands of domestic life – we all have perfectly valid excuses for why we can’t spare a moment to exercise. But what if you could get nearly all the benefits of working out while not sacrificing the time? Read on for some tips on how to exercise fast and yield successful results.
Start in the kitchen
If you are really going to make your fast-paced workouts count, you need to have the right kind of fuel to burn. Lean red meats, plenty of fish, chicken, leafy greens, no sugar and no processed carbs is the way you want to go.
Also take into account that calories need time to burn; a luxury not bequeathed upon you. This means that you simply can’t afford to eat junk food as regular as someone who spends an hour or two in the gym every time they work out. Harsh, but true.
Hit the weights
Too many people lacking time assume that a quick jog or an intense session on the cardio machines is going to cut the trick. Sadly, not true.
While you should certainly try to do exercise that you enjoy, if you are pressed by the clock, lifting is the way to go. It has been proven time and again that weights build muscle fast, boost the metabolism and burn more body fat.
Try to do at least three days a week and focus each session on a different body area (legs, arms, chest, core, back).
Exercise with a friend
If you talk to any seasoned gym veteran or athlete, they’ll all tell you the same thing; nothing pushes you more than having someone work out with you.
Be it your better half, best friend or grandma, it would do you well to incorporate the assistance of a companion with the same objective as you; get the most out of a brisk workout.
Consult a trainer
The money you spend on getting a professional to tailor a workout regimen to your needs will no doubt prove to be a superb investment in the long run (pun intended).
Stop making excuses
Now that you can’t even use a lack of time as an excuse for not being physically active, it’s time to get out there and get active!
