Struggling to train with knee pain?

How can our biokineticist help you?

The knee is one of the most traumatised joints.

Most people experience knee pain at some point in their lives.

Knee injuries can be avoided by improving muscle strength and wearing appropriate shoes.

Causes of Knee pain:

  • Knee ligament injuries – sprains of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), posterior cruciate ligament (PCL), lateral collateral ligament (LCL) and medial collateral ligament (MCL).
  • Arthritis of the knee
  • IT band syndrome/Runner’s knee
  • Plica syndrome
  • Osgood-Schlatters disease
  • Knee Cartilage Tears medial meniscus and the lateral meniscus
  • Fractures of the patella, femur or tibia
  • Dislocation or subluxations of the patella
  • Patellafemoral pain syndrome
  • Bursitis
  • Tendinitis/tendinosis: inflammation or small tears in the tendons

How our Biokineticists will help you:

  • You will undergo a short assessment. To diagnose injury and to identify risk factors contributing to your knee injury.
  • The Biokineticist will then provide specific exercises to strengthen the muscles around your knee to make it more stable and to reduce pain. Your Biokineticist will also help to improve your balance and correct suboptimal movement patterns.
