Running made easy with the new RUN FITT program
Maskell Biokineticists launched their new Biokinetics RUN FITT programme. This programme is an evidence-based exercise conditioning group class, specifically geared to running enthusiasts of all levels. This programme will assist you in reaching your fitness and running goals!

- Why a running specific programme?
Running is known to be one of the most popular activities enjoyed by all people around the world. This is greatly due to the health benefits, low cost of participation and ease of implementation. Despite these health and financial benefits, running related injuries are common, with studies reporting injury incidence rates as high as 79% within a 6-month period (Lenhart et al. 2014), that is equivalent to almost 8 out of every 10 runners sustaining an injury. These statistics indicate that a training intervention is needed for all runners.
- What is RUN FITT?
RUN FITT is a 4-week training intervention that can either be used as a standalone program or form part of your regular/maintenance training (see packages below). The aim of the program is to provide you with tools that will help you run longer, stronger, faster, and injury free. All exercise sessions will be conducted in a fun group class training setup after you have completed a Biokinetics evaluation. Scientifically- based exercise prescription and programming, will then be utilized in conjunction with your running aspirations and/or your current running program.
RUN FITT will make use of the FITT principle of exercise prescription, giving you a blend of theory, research and practice. You will have exercise sessions that includes specification of:
All evaluations and exercise prescription and programming will be done by a registered Biokineticist. Running enthusiasts will have the luxury of choosing the best packaged deal that will suite their time and needs. Class times and dates may vary depending on group size, notice will be given in the likelihood of such changes. Classes will commence in February @ Zone Fitness Willowbridge after which we will have new and regular groups per month. Spaces are limited so be sure to book your spot!
